May/June 2008

Ron Knapp , MDF Regional Director

Since the National Convention, I have been on the road almost constantly. The weekend following convention I was in Yakima for a Sportsman’s Show. The Yakima chapter is doing fine after the loss of their leader. George Justice and the rest of the committee have all stepped up and are going “full bore” towards their May 10 banquet.

On to Redmond, Ore., to help at that outdoor show. All is well as that chapter plans for their upcoming event also on May 10. From Redmond, I traveled on to Bozeman, Mont., for their meeting on March 4. Planning is going well for their banquet on June 14 – look for it to be another “barn burner.”

March 5, 2008, found me accompanied by Montana State Chair Dan Dillinger in Great Falls, Mont., to meet with a group of volunteers interested in starting a new chapter. Thanks to former Montana State and Great Falls Chapter Chair Darick Godfrey for assisting in getting this chapter going. Look for a banquet in February of 2009.

From Great Falls it was on the Kalispell, Mont., for a Sportsman’s Show. There was much interest in MDF at the show. I returned on March 24 and started a new chapter with a banquet date set for May 31. For tickets call Joe Kubfler at 406-854-2363. If you would like to donate or help with this event call me, Ron Knapp, at 360-856-2188 or 360-708-0898.

Home for just a few days to re-charge and then off to St. Anthony, Idaho, for their banquet on March 15. A great amount of work went into this year’s event as both the net dollars and banquet efficiency are up from last year. Thanks to Trent Yancey and his crew for all the hard work.

March 22 and 23 found me in Spokane, Wash., to help this “well oiled” chapter with the Bighorn Show. March 25 I was in Tri-Cities, Wash., to start a new chapter. Look for a banquet date and chapter contact to be posted soon on the Web site.

Looking into April, the Mt. Vernon chapter will have their banquet and fundraiser on the 5th. They will be followed by Spokane the next weekend. On the 26th there will be two events, one in Wenatchee, Wash., and one in Post Falls, Idaho.
