North Dakota Statewide Mule Deer Permit Winner Announced

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) has been raffling off the North Dakota Statewide Mule Deer Permit since 2004. Thanks to the North Dakota legislature, Governor John Hoeven and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department the license has been offered on an annual basis, providing much needed funds for mule deer management in the state.

The proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets are for use by the MDF in the state of North Dakota alone. To date, just under $40,000 has been raised by the sale of the raffle tickets and all of that money is going to projects in the state. Funding has done towards: 1) the North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s P.L.O.T.S. access and habitat enhancement program, 2) various youth activities in the state, 3) the Sportsmen Against Hunger Program, 4) grazing system projects and 5) food plot projects.

The drawing for the 2009 Statewide Mule Deer License was held on March 28, 2009. The winners for the 2009 drawing were:

In the past, winners included people from Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, but as you can see this year all of the winners were from North Dakota.

Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to everyone who purchased and sold tickets to help us raise the much needed funds for mule deer in the state!
