Youth & Family

“Remember to take a kid hunting or fishing and make memories that last a lifetime!”
- Miles Moretti, MDF President & CEO

The atmosphere at MDF events is one of family, fun and friends, with an underlying sense of purpose.

MDF believes our children are the key to protecting and growing our hunting heritage.

We also believe it is vital to MDF’s conservation goals that young people are taught to appreciate and value wildlife and the great outdoors.

We back up these beliefs with action! MDF gets kids involved at all levels.

At our regional banquets, a lot of effort is put into youth games, as well as drawings and raffles. Most banquets also offer discounted pricing for children under 12.

Our National Convention expo hall abounds with youth activities. In the past we’ve had an air gun shooting range, a mechanical bull, archery competition, and more!

Many of our chapters have helped out with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). We’ve worked with the Boy Scouts of America. We’ve coordinated hunts for children with life threatening diseases. MDF chapters have partnered with state agencies to host Youth Conservation Camps and the M.U.L.E.Y. (Mindful, Understanding, Legal and Ethical Youth) Day Camps.

And we are expanding the focus of our youth programs. At MDF, we want to make an impact. We want to help develop future hunters and conservationists.
