Increase Grass and Forb

September 2006 The High Mountain Chapter in Walden, Colo. recently provided funding to treat 200-400 acres of dense sagebrush to increase grass and forb component for mule deer. Of the 400 acres, approximately 50% (200 acres) will be treated to promote growth of forbs.

With a total estimated project cost of approximately $20,000, the High Mountain Chapter requested distribution of their 2005 Chapter Rewards of $737 to the Owl Mountain Partnership involving USFS, BLM, CO DOW, NRCS and NPHPP to assist with this effort. Anticipated completion date September/October 2006.
