Silent Auction Policies

The silent auction closes at 9:00 PM

The silent auction is similar to a regular auction except for the presence of an auctioneer. You select the item(s) to bid on and write your bid on the bid sheet. If you are the single highest bidder–YOU WIN!

Silent auction items are displayed with a bid sheet. If you wish to bid on the item, write your name and the dollar amount clearly on the sheet. If someone has already bid on the sheet, move to the next line and raise the bid by the minimum increments allowed for that item.

EXAMPLES If the written bid is $75 and the minimum bid increase is $5, the next bid must be $80.

If the written bid is $100 and the minimum bid increase is $10, the next bid must be $110.

Even though you bid once, be sure to check your item often because someone may raise your bid. You then have the opportunity to raise the bid so you don’t lose the item.

Auction Policy and Terms of Sale

The Mule Deer Foundation is not capable of guaranteeing the quality of trips or merchandise, or the satisfaction of either the buyer or the donor, and offers no warranty, either expressed or implied, on any auction or drawing transaction.

The auctioneer has final authority on the amount paid for an item and/or the identity of the purchaser of the item.

The purchaser must sign an auction receipt for each item at the time of purchase. An auction runner will bring the auction receipt for your signature to your table immediately after you have won the bid.

Payments may be made with cash, check, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Payment must be made by the end of tonight’s event or no later than 4:00 pm tomorrow. Auction items are available for pick-up tonight or by 4:00 pm Friday in Room 253; Room 253 will be open at 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm for payments, pick-ups and Fire registration. We ask that you pay for State Tags by cash or check.

Proof of payment will be required before an item may be claimed. When you pay you will be issued a paid receipt.

Please consult your tax advisor regarding the tax deductibility of any item purchased at the auction.

Hunts and Trips

It is the successful bidder’s responsibility to, in a proper and timely manner, apply and pay for all required tags and licenses on any hunting or fishing trip auctioned. Additionally, it is their responsibility to contact the guide or outfitter for their hunt or fishing trip within 30 days of this event to discuss the scheduling of their hunt or fishing trip.
